BIO

Shawn Wines is a writer, director and editor based in New York City. His 2011 film "High Maintenance" was a finalist in the Student Academy Awards, and his previous work as a writer, director and editor has screened at festivals around the country.

Previously, he worked as an assistant editor on "3 Backyards," a feature film starring Edie Falco that premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, and served as apprentice editor on the feature documentary "Cocaine Cowboys," distributed in theaters and on DVD by Magnolia Pictures.

In Los Angeles, Shawn worked as a set production assistant on "Rush Hour 3" and "Get Smart," and held the position of unit production manager on "Squeegees," a ten-episode web series commissioned by Disney and broadcast on ABC.com in 2008.

Shawn has worked at "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," "As the World Turns," Mother Productions, Plum TV and the commercial production company Hungry Man, all in New York. He authored a guidebook on student life at the University of Miami, which is sold in book stores and online by the College Prowler company. Before that, he wrote hundreds of film reviews for various South Florida outlets, interviewing actors and filmmakers ranging from Ray Liotta to Jerry Bruckheimer.

In 2009, Shawn produced an independent feature, "Done to Death," and has served as a producer, cinematographer and editor on dozens of short films, as well as writing and directing several of his own.

He is currently developing feature comedies that are too vulgar to describe on the internet.
